We are going to Lake Garda in June by train from St. Pancras to Paris then from Paris to Milan. We are staying overnight in Milan and the following day will be getting a train from Milan to Peschiera. We are staying in Malcesine and want to know the best way to get there from Pescheira and also how long it will take to get there and also the approximate cost the cost?
We will be flying back to the UK so would also like advice as to which departure airport would be best.
Many thanks

A. To get from Peschiera to Malcesine you could use public buses, the cheapest option, but one that will require some patience and will take somewhat longer. It partly depends on when you arrive, as to whether buses are a good option. There are usually taxi's waiting at the station so this is probably your quickest and easiest option, but it will cost more. I have never done that particular route in a taxi, but I am guessing maybe 40-50 Euros??
I respect of flying back, you will probably get the cheapest flights from Milan Bergamo. Brescia can have some good deals, but flights are infrequent. Verona will be far the closest to that side of the lake, but flights can often be more expensive. You have to weigh up your priorities and decide which is best.
All the best,
