I went to Peschiera with my wife and friends, June 2010 unfortunately our hotel Parc Hotel was too far away from the town to walk but the hotel provided a curtesy bus. One word of caution if you wish to book this hotel the first two weeks in June is there summer camp and a couple of hundred Italian children arrive with only a few teachers to look after them. Otherwise it is a nice hotel.
We found the town charming and had a birthday dinner at a restaurant by the side of the river, perfect, although Peschiera is part industrial it does not infringe on the tourist. The view looking up the lake is fantastic, the little shops and restaurants are very good. We took the bus to Gardaland for the day, it was chaotic trying to buy tickets if you are going try and buy them beforehand.
Once inside it was very good but if you are one of the eldery brigade there are some rides you cannot go on my friend and I queued for half an hour and then told we were too old. Apart from that it was an enjoyable day.
After a days rest we took the bus to Sirmione, it really is worth going so picturesque, I think it is my favourite, though all the towns have their own charm.
We loved Lake Garda so much we are going back next year with more friends to Limone.
